Wearing the hijab is not just a matter of faith; it’s a statement of style, empowerment, and identity. At RUUQ, we know how important it is for Muslim women to express themselves while maintaining their modesty. That's why we've designed the perfect hijab bodysuits to help you style your hijab effortlessly, whether you’re heading to work, lounging at home, or dressing up for a special event. In this article, we’ll share some versatile styling tips to help you pair your hijab with various outfits, ensuring you always feel confident and comfortable in every step of your journey.

Understanding the Purpose of the Hijab
Before diving into styling, it's important to understand the purpose and significance of the hijab. It represents modesty, privacy, and faith. The way a hijab is worn should align with the principles of covering the hair, neck, and sometimes the shoulders, depending on cultural practices and personal preferences.

Basic Guidelines of Hijab
The concept of hijab goes beyond just covering the hair; it's about overall modesty in dress and behavior. Here are some basic guidelines:

  • Cover the Body Modestly: The clothing should cover the whole body, including the hair, neck, arms, and torso, leaving only the face and hands exposed.
  • Avoid Tight or Transparent Clothing: Clothing should be loose enough not to reveal the shape of the body and made of non-see-through fabric.
  • Choose Unassuming Styles: Avoid overly flashy or attention-drawing outfits; modesty is key.

RUUQ’s hijab bodysuit provides a secure foundation to ensure that even when you're wearing looser hijabs or tops with a wider neckline, your modesty remains intact. It’s all about achieving modesty without sacrificing style and comfort.

The Basics of Wearing a Hijab
The basics of wearing a hijab start with ensuring that all your hair and neck are fully covered, leaving only your face exposed. The goal is to dress modestly while reflecting your unique style. Here’s how to start:

  1. Use an Undercap or Bodysuit for Security: An undercap helps keep your hijab in place, but for fuller coverage, a hijab bodysuit is an excellent choice. The RUUQ bodysuit not only covers your hair but also your neck and torso, ensuring you remain covered even if the outer layers of your clothing shift.
  2. Choose the Right Hijab Fabric: Depending on your outfit and occasion, you can choose fabrics like chiffon for a lightweight, elegant look or jersey for comfort and durability. The key is to choose a material that complements your style and feels comfortable on your skin.
  3. Drape the Hijab Over Loosely or Securely: Depending on your preference, you can either drape your hijab loosely over your shoulders for a relaxed look or wrap it more securely around your head and neck for a polished, professional appearance.
Tip: If you're wearing a looser hijab, make sure to tuck in any stray strands of hair to maintain neatness and modesty.

How to Wear a Hijab for Different Occasions
  1. For Everyday Wear: When styling your hijab for day-to-day activities, comfort is key. Go for breathable fabrics like cotton or jersey. Pair your hijab bodysuit with a simple loose tunic and wide-leg pants. You can tie your hijab securely around your neck, letting the ends hang loose or tuck them in for a more streamlined look.

RUUQ Styling Suggestion: Wear the RUUQ hijab bodysuit as an inner layer to keep your neckline, hair, and neck covered. Add a casual outer layer like a flowy blouse or a long cardigan for an effortless look.

  2.  For Work or Professional Settings: When dressing for work, you want to achieve a balance of modesty and professionalism. Satin or silk hijabs add an elegant touch to your outfit, while neutral or solid colors keep the look refined. Tuck the hijab into the bodysuit and wear a structured blazer or long coat over your ensemble.

RUUQ Styling Suggestion: The snap buttons on RUUQ hijab bodysuits allow you to layer blouses or blazers without constantly adjusting your outfit.

  3. For Sports or Activewear: When you're on the move, whether working out or running errands, your hijab needs to stay secure without feeling restrictive. Choose stretchy fabrics like jersey or lightweight sports materials. You can keep the hijab wrap simple, with just one or two wraps around the head, and tie or pin it at the back.

RUUQ Styling Suggestion: The breathable and stretchable fabric of the RUUQ oversize top with hijab cap makes it ideal for activewear. The secure neckline ensures that the hijab stays in place, so you can focus on your activities without worrying about readjustments.

  4. For Special Occasions: For events like weddings, Eid celebrations, or formal gatherings, your hijab style can be more elaborate. A silk or satin hijab adds luxury, while embellishments like pins or brooches provide a sophisticated touch. You can create elegant folds and layers with the hijab to frame your face beautifully.

RUUQ Styling Suggestion: With the RUUQ hijab bodysuit as your base, you can confidently wear a delicate, sheer hijab without worrying about revealing your hair or skin. The bodysuit acts as a modesty layer, allowing you to experiment with styling while maintaining full coverage.

Ensuring Your Hijab Stays in Place
The main challenge many women face when wearing a hijab is keeping it in place all day. Here are a few tips to help secure your hijab:
  • Use Hijab Pins or Magnets: Secure your hijab under the chin or on the side of your head with pins or magnets to keep it from slipping.
  • Opt for a Secure Inner Layer: The RUUQ hijab bodysuit provides a full-coverage base layer that prevents your hijab from moving around, so you can go about your day with confidence.
  • Choose the Right Wrap Style for You: If you prefer a loose drape, make sure the fabric has enough grip to stay in place. For a tighter wrap, opt for a secure material that will hold its shape throughout the day.

Caring for Your Hijab & Bodysuit
Proper care is essential for keeping your hijab and bodysuit in good condition. Here are a few tips:
  • Wash According to Fabric Needs: Delicate fabrics like silk require hand-washing or dry-cleaning, while more durable materials like cotton or jersey can be machine-washed on a gentle cycle.
  • Store Properly: Fold your hijabs neatly or hang them on a hanger to prevent wrinkles. Store your hijab bodysuit flat or on a hanger to maintain its shape.
  • Avoid Over-Pinning: While pins can help secure your hijab, avoid excessive pinning as it can damage the fabric over time.

Final Thoughts: Embracing Modesty with Style
Wearing a hijab is a personal journey and a form of self-expression. The key is to find a style that not only aligns with your faith but also makes you feel comfortable and confident. With the right techniques, fabrics, and accessories, you can wear your hijab in a way that complements your unique style.

As a non-muslim who also favors modesty highly, I fell in love with Ruuq when I first saw it on the Gram! The worst thing on joining a modest wardrobe (in a non-modest country), was finding clothes that hid my body. I started turning toward the shops of Muslim around me, because in my country Muslim women = modesty (for the most part, those who wear their Hijab well).

I didn’t want skin coverage (long sleeves and tight pants), I wanted body coverage. Then came the new struggle of layering! I am always saving my money to get Ruuq (haven’t ordered yet), since my currency is TTD. It’s a bit more saving to attain, but I do so JOYFULLY!!
